Peggy Karr Glass was founded in 1987 in Peggy’s home in Morristown, New Jersey. During those earlier years, Peggy’s college majors were art and biology, with a focus on ceramics. She later began to work with stained glass when she was inspired by a piece enameled glass that she happened across. The designer was Maurice Heaton (along with Michael and Frances Higgins) and she fell in love with it from the very beginning. Since her humble beginnings, the company has grown into the largest enamel fused glass company in the world. She’s created a modern manufacturing atmosphere to support a beautiful, hand-decorated product with the help of skilled artisans and dedication to beauty and quality. The company’s spacious current location is in Randolph, NJ. Since they were “bursting at the seams” at their old place, the new home is a much better fit and gives them “room to breathe” and create more gorgeous glass.
